Test Automation Engineer (m/f/d)
Job Description
Quantum-Systems GmbH is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join its software team in Gilching and help develop, optimize, and expand the test automation system for ground station and drone software. The role focuses on automating software quality and release processes for small unmanned aerial systems and their vertical take-off and landing aircraft software.
You will develop test strategies, create end-to-end integration tests, review and optimize existing test cases, expand test coverage, and develop an automated test framework that enables continuous extension of the test suite. The role also includes evaluating AI-powered testing solutions, including AI agent-based systems, to improve test generation and automate test implementation.
The position involves close collaboration with software development teams and adjacent departments such as hardware development. Candidates should have 3+ years of software testing experience, proficiency with automated testing using Python or a comparable language, hands-on experience with the Robot test automation framework, and experience with CI/CD tools and Docker. The position is full-time, with flexible working hours and the option to work remotely one flexible day per week.
Requirements
- Successfully completed degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable qualification.
- ISTQB certification is an example of a comparable qualification.
- 3+ years of experience in software testing or a similar role.
- Proficiency in developing, optimizing, and maintaining automated test cases using Python or a comparable language.
- Hands-on experience with Robot test automation framework.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, ideally GitHub.
- Experience with Docker.
- Practical experience building hardware/software-in-the-loop setups from concept to implementation.
- Interest or experience in AI-assisted software development, LLMs, or AI agent frameworks applied to software testing and automation is a strong plus.
- Experience with DO-178C is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
