Mantis Robotics is seeking a motivated student to join its sensor development team in Leuven, Belgium. The role focuses on research and development activities related to the design and testing of a sensor module for Human-Robot Interaction.
The position involves testing an early sensor-module prototype, setting up test environments, developing embedded software, collecting and processing sensor data, and evaluating system performance. Responsibilities also include designing and implementing sensor-data drivers and algorithms, independently setting up hardware and debugging with laboratory tools, critically evaluating performance, and responding quickly to changing requirements.
The opportunity is available as a full-time or part-time internship/student job. Internships require a minimum duration of 3 months, while the part-time student-job option requires availability of 14 hours per week.
Applicants should be Bachelor’s or Master’s students in a related engineering field such as Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering. Practical microcontroller experience, hands-on C or C++ skills, and strong written and verbal English communication skills are required. Python, Git/SVN, and industrial robotics experience are preferred.
